Website and Mini Sessions Coming Soon!!!

I wanted to let all my friends and followers know that I do have a website in the works.  I hope to have it up and running in the next month or so that you can visit it for all information, updates, and proofs.  For now, you can still use this blog or my Facebook Page at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Layla-Hughes-Photography/298787606806795

Also, I'm hoping to post some Mini Session information next month.  I'd like to do them early spring as it's getting warmer, so stay tuned for more info!

Sweet Sophia!

I had the pleasure of photographing yet another sweet baby last week.  Sophia didn't sleep for me, but she was a doll all the same.  13 days and 6 pounds of preciousness!!!  Her mama Kari and I know each other from playing volleyball and it was an honor to be able to take Sophia's pictures.  Thank you, Kari for letting me photograph that beautiful, sweet little girl.

I used Wish Photography's www.wish-photo.com "Girly Girl" action on this one; the one below is a normal edit and close up.

Baby Eva!

I say 'Baby' Eva and not newborn Eva only because she was about 3 weeks old when I got to snap these precious pics of her.  She is my first baby to photograph professionally and I loved every minute.  Since I have vowed that I am finished having any more kiddos of my own, I found out with Eva that this is the best way to get my "baby-fix".  :-)

She was an absolute doll, and although she was awake throughout the session and I didn't get to try my b est Anne Geddes impression , I think I got some pretty sweet shots of her.

It's Miller Time! The Miller Family that is...

Sunday I had the priviledge of photographing this awesome family.  They were so great and I think we all had a good time.  I took almost 300 pictures so I am still very heavy in edit mode, but wanted to post a few sneak peaks to give the family, especially Mom Lauri, something to look forward to.

More for the portfolio.

I took these a couple weeks ago of this sweet and funny boy, Kaylen.  It took him a couple shots to warm up, but then he had me cracking up!  He started tickling himself to make himself laugh!  After that my job was easy.  He even let me take some in his Halloween costume...he's going as Shaggy from Scooby-Doo.  What a character he is and I had so much fun getting these shots.

Portfolio Building

Taking pictures of my boys is easy...picking out the best ones to use to build my portfolio?...not so much.  These first four shots are obviously of my boys, Conner and Samuel.  They are non-stop and keep me very busy, but I am determined to take pictures of other families besides mine because I love the memories that pictures provide.  I love to look back at a photo and remember what it meant and represented at the time.  My goal is to provide those memories through my pictures.
